General Description

Tripelennamine Citrate is a first-generation H1 receptor antagonist of the ethylenediamine class. It exhibits moderate antihistamine potency with accompanying anticholinergic and sedative effects.

Mechanism of Action

Tripelennamine competitively blocks histamine H1 receptors on effector cells, preventing histamine-mediated vasodilation, increased capillary permeability, and smooth muscle contraction associated with allergic responses.
