General Description

Tridihexethyl Chloride is a synthetic quaternary ammonium anticholinergic agent of the antispasmodic class. It does not readily cross the blood-brain barrier, providing peripheral antimuscarinic effects without central side effects.

Mechanism of Action

Tridihexethyl competitively blocks muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in gastrointestinal smooth muscle, inhibiting parasympathetic-mediated contraction and reducing gastric acid secretion and intestinal motility.

Application

Used in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Tridihexethyl Chloride is indicated for peptic ulcer disease, functional gastrointestinal spasm, irritable bowel syndrome, and hypersecretory conditions.
