General Description
Ethylestrenol is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) derived from estrane (19-nor testosterone), featuring a 17α-ethyl group. Unlike most anabolic steroids, it lacks a 17β-hydroxyl group in its basic structure, being a Δ4,9-estrenol, and has a relatively favorable anabolic-to-androgenic ratio.
Mechanism of Action
Ethylestrenol binds to androgen receptors and promotes anabolic gene transcription through androgen response elements. It is also metabolized to active androgenic and estrogenic metabolites, and may stimulate erythropoiesis through androgen receptor-mediated EPO pathway activation.
Application
Indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis and conditions requiring anabolic stimulation. Ethylestrenol is a 19-nor anabolic-androgenic steroid derived from estrane with a favorable anabolic-to-androgenic ratio, providing bone and muscle anabolic effects with reduced androgenic side effects.
