Description
C–X–C motif chemokine 10 (CXCL10) also known as interferon γ-induced protein 10kDa (IP-10) or small-inducible cytokine B10 is a cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. The rhesus macaque IP-10 shares 69 %, 95 %, 74 % a.a. sequence identity with human, mouse, rat IP-10. This chemokine elicits its effects by binding to the cell surface chemokine receptor CXCR3. CXCL10 has been shown to be a chemoattractant for activated Tlymphocytes. CXCL10 has been reported to be a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis and to display a potent thymus-dependent antitumor effect. CXCL10 is also recognized as a biomarker that predicts severity of various diseases.
