Sulfadimethoxine sodium is a sulfa drug that is an amide form of sulfadiazine. Sulfadimethoxine sodium can be used in wastewater treatment because it has been shown to cause cell lysis and inhibit microbial growth. The chemical structure of sulfadimethoxine sodium consists of two parts: a sulfonamide group and a carbonate group. It also contains four hydrochloric acid molecules in its molecular structure.
