General Description
Solifenacin Succinate is a competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist with high selectivity for M3 receptors over M2 receptors. This selectivity provides effective bladder relaxation while minimizing cardiac and CNS effects.
Mechanism of Action
Solifenacin selectively blocks M3 muscarinic receptors on bladder detrusor smooth muscle, inhibiting acetylcholine-mediated contraction during the filling phase, increasing bladder capacity and reducing urgency and frequency.
Application
Used in the treatment of overactive bladder. Solifenacin Succinate is indicated for urge urinary incontinence, urinary urgency, and urinary frequency associated with overactive bladder syndrome.
