General Description
Polypropylene is a low-density, semi-crystalline thermoplastic resin with an outstanding combination of thermal, chemical, and electrical properties and with moderate strength. It is produced as molded powders, as extruded sheets, films, and fibers. Polypropylene has good resistance to strong acids, bases, and aqueous solutions of inorganic salts. It is a highly reliable, chemically inert material.
Application
Polypropylene is an important industrial manufacturing base resin for extrusion and injection molding for applications in packaging, textiles and structural components. In the pharmaceutical industry, this chemical inertness and low moisture permeability make polypropylene an important drug excipient and component of drug delivery devices.

A novel anti-adhesion polypropylene mesh for hernia repair, incorporating a poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogel barrier and rapamycin (RPM)-loaded liposomes (LPS). A PVA hydrogel coating was formed on PP mesh via green freezing–thawing cycles (FTP), and RPM-LPS was immobilized by swelling the lyophilized coating in liposome solution. The resulting RPM@LPS/PVA10-c-PP remained intact after 30 days in PBS at 37–40 ℃. In vitro assays confirmed good cytocompatibility and reduced cell adhesion. In a rat model, the modified mesh markedly decreased adhesion and elicited milder inflammation and looser fibrous encapsulation, as shown by histology.

What is Polypropylene's chemical resistance?

Polypropylene is resistant to strong acids and bases, and to most organic solvents at room temperature.

Can Polypropylene be used for pharmaceutical applications?

Yes, Polypropylene is used for pharmaceutical applications, because of its chemical inertness and low moisture permeability.

What is the MOQ for Polypropylene orders?

MOQ depends on the product. We can handle both R&D samples and large quantities for industrial use.

What regulatory documents do you provide?

We provide complete regulatory files for applicable Polypropylene grades.
