(1R,2S,5S)-N-((1S)-1-Cyano-2-((3S)-2-oxopyrrolidin-3-yl)ethyl)-6,6-dimethyl-3-(3-methyl-N-(trifluoroacetyl)-L-valyl)-3-azabicyclo(3. 1.0)hexane-2-carboxamide is a synthetic antibiotic that is active against bacteria and some parasites. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of AIDS patients infected with HIV and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This drug also has antiviral and antifungal properties which may be due to its inhibition of viral DNA polymerase and fungal RNA polymerase.
