General Description
N6-Carbobenzoxy-L-lysinine N-Carboxyanhydride is a lysine-based NCA monomer featuring a Cbz-protected side chain, allowing for stable polymerization and versatile deprotection.
Mechanism of Action
It acts as a precursor for poly(epsilon-Cbz-L-lysine). The Cbz group provides excellent stability during polymerization and can be removed later via hydrogenolysis to reveal the free amino groups of the polylysine.
Application
It is a fundamental building block for the synthesis of functional polypeptides used in biosensor development and targeted therapeutic delivery.
