General Description
L-Tyr-NCA (L-Tyrosine N-carboxyanhydride) is a highly reactive cyclic derivative of tyrosine used for the rapid polymerization and synthesis of amino acid chains.

It acts as a self-activating monomer. Upon initiation by a nucleophile, the NCA ring opens to release carbon dioxide and form a new peptide bond, allowing for the synthesis of high-molecular-weight polytyrosine or block copolymers without coupling reagents.
