Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)

The fine powder particles of this product will form explosive mixtures with air. Powder samples must not be exposed below 135-145℃. Samples may decompose and cause dust explosions; if powders and fines are to be stored, they must be kept in good warehouses to avoid dust reaching the explosive limit in the air.

This product is a multi-purpose pharmaceutical excipient, can be used as a thickener, dispersant, emulsifier and film-forming agent. It can be used as film coating and adhesive in tablets, which can significantly improve the dissolution of drugs and enhance the waterproof of tablets. It can also be used as suspensions, ophthalmic preparations, slow and controlled release preparations skeleton and floating tablets, hollow plant capsules, etc. Combined with other synthetic polymers and colloidal drugs, HPMC can prevent water and ethanol from separating from transparent hydrocolloid drugs and improve water retention. In addition, it is also used as a thickener, emulsifier and to improve rheological properties in food, cosmetics and other daily-use chemical industries.
