General Description

Bitolterol Mesylate is a synthetic catecholamine prodrug and long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) developed for the bronchodilator treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The prodrug design results in a longer duration of action (4-8 hours) compared to direct beta-2 agonists, and reduced susceptibility to COMT-mediated metabolism contributes to its prolonged effect.
